Course Format — Pathway — User Guide
This page lets you change the course format to “Pathway” for all courses at once, except the first course and any course that is already set as “Site”. After that, courses will use the Pathway format for how content is displayed.
Who can use it?
Only users who have access to this page (e.g. your administrator will give you the link). It is intended for site or course administrators.
How do I open the page?
Open the page in your browser. The exact address depends on your site; it is usually something like:
Your site URL + /local/completion_bulk/course_pathway.php
Example: https://yoursite.com/local/completion_bulk/course_pathway.php
Note: The page interface may be in Arabic (right-to-left). The steps below still apply.

- Open the page in your browser (see “How do I open the page?” above).
- Read the message — it explains that course format will be changed to Pathway for all courses except the first one and “Site” format courses.
- Click the update button (the label may be in Arabic, e.g. “تحديث البيانات الآن”).
- A confirmation popup appears. Click OK to continue or Cancel to do nothing.
- After you confirm, the page will refresh and show either:
- Success — and how many courses were updated, or
- Error — with a short message. In that case, contact your administrator.
What happens when I run the update?
- Every course that is not the first course (ID 1) and not already “Site” format is set to Pathway format.
- Learners and teachers will see the course layout according to the Pathway format from then on.
- Course content is not removed; only the way the course is displayed (its format) is changed.
Tip: Run this only when you want all such courses to use Pathway. If you see a success message, the change is already applied.
